The Banks is an OG silhouette in the Nixon lineup. First hitting shelves in 2005 (and back on Nixon.com in 2025), the Nixon Banks has seen many different forms.
One collector in Denmark, Henrik Dalgaard, has a Nixon collection entirely made up of the Banks. We caught up with Henrik to talk with him about his legendary Banks collection.

Interview with Henrik Dalgaard, Banks Collector
Tell us a little about yourself. What’s your name, where are you from, what do you do for work, for fun, etc.?
My name is Henrik Dalgaard. I live in a small town, Slangerup, in Denmark. I sold men's clothing for many years, but I now work as a ventilation technician. I also have a 3rd education in multimedia design. When I'm not working on the watches, I spend time outdoors, gardening and with my parents.
I enjoy traveling a lot, mostly Greek islands.
I also have a big vinyl record collection, and a butterfly collection. ??
When did you start collecting the Banks?
10 years ago I was looking for a watch to match a gold/sapphire ring and cufflinks I bought, and I found the gold Banks with black to match perfectly.
Why did you decide to start collecting that watch?
Collecting the Banks started seriously about 5 years ago, before that I just had 3, and didn't really pay much attention to it. But my collector genes took over as I discovered the many other variations of the model.

How many different versions of the Banks do you own?
I have nearly 90 different versions, and there are a couple of rare samples included.
How do you own so many? Are some of them custom jobs? Explain that please!
First I aimed to have the complete list of original Banks, and I'm almost there. But then I started to get ideas for other color ways, so I tried swapping and changing the subdials and making other colors on the front plates. The logo is the hardest to get off and on... but I have been practicing and I'm getting better and better.
But only the old logo is possible to take off.
I recently teamed up with another Nixon collector and he made laser cut wood plates for the Banks. The results are really nice. I have always been very creative, so it's a nice way to use my creativity and skills.
Do you have any fun stories/facts about your watch collection you'd like to share?
Well I can say that collecting and sharing my watches has been a way to meet new people all around the world. I have found people that are really helpful and thoughtful. Also, the Nixon collector groups on Facebook are really good at warning others off scammers or letting each other know what they are looking for.
Do you have a favorite from your collection?
I think it's the bronze sample I have. I was really lucky, a friend in Thailand found it for me. But I'm also very happy with my custom golden oak Banks, it's definitely a favorite too. Many of them have something.

Do you own any Nixon watches besides the Banks?
No, only the Banks. I keep it simple. ??
What do you hope to see from Nixon in the future?
I'd love to see the Banks with more two tone steel straps and other creative styles. I tried to separate them myself to make new variations, but it's not possible without some pro tools.
